Maryam Kheiry (who goes by Sora) is a multidisciplinary visual artist whose practice spans drawing, material exploration, and digital media. Born in Iran and based in Canada, her work explores the poetic and conceptual possibilities of line, texture, and shadow—often navigating the spaces between memory, perception, and cultural identity.

Rooted in a research-driven approach, Sora draws on her background in semiology and visual literacy to create works that blur the boundary between image and meaning. Her art has been featured in solo and group exhibitions across Canada, Iran, Italy, Turkey, and the United States.

With over seven years of experience teaching in higher education, she has mentored emerging artists and developed curricula centered on critical thinking, visual experimentation, and conceptual exploration. Her practice continues to evolve as a space for inquiry, where material, form, and thought converge.
